So….. a week ago I got backed into at work. The perps were upfront, and super honest. They bonked the rear driver bumper, and pushed the rear quarter panel enough to crumple some paint and mess up the bracing (see pics).

I’ve already gone through their insurance, and know I have about $1,775 coming. Question is what to do.
I think the bumper could be hammered out and touched up successfully, but I’m worried about the paint on the body continuing to peel.
I’m considering a HC rear bumper that would take care of both issues, but I don’t love the look of a hardcore bumper on a mildly built rig. Or I could just leave it all alone and buy tires.
    What would TW do?
Oh, and I scored a canoe today, super excited.

Get a roof rack for that sweet canoe! Then go on a weekend trip to a lake with the left-over money

Sounds like you already know all the options and it's up to you personally to decide which you want

If it were me, I'd say a truck should have
    -lift
    -bigger tires
-armor of sliders, front, and rear bumper to provide protection from all angles
with bumper being HC for wraparound protection and usable swingout, for storing things like a table, spare tire, etc. out of the way.

Depends on what kind of use the truck will get and whether it will be kept or not.
I'm not sure if being a longbed, even if built, limits it from being good at offroading due to being a longbed
