Trust me when I say I really really really wanted to keep my 3rd gen. Paid it off, and finished all my mods, in 27 months. Plan was to be my retirement trouble free truck for trips back and forth between VA and Florida. It just wasn't meant to be.

No I wouldn't think so. Experienced Toyota techs, who have done frame replacements, can pull the cab in one hour to access other work easier. The picture is an example. You should watch a video of them doing a frame replacement. The point is, after the warranty expires on a 3rd gen, a timing chain cover seal is going to be an expensive job at the dealer. I don't think 2nd gens had a history of early timing cover leaks like 3rd gens. There was also reports of 3rd gen rear main seals leaking which, I think, would be more in line with the picture. This picture was in a FB post about a 2021 with a timing cover leak at 15k miles.

BirdDawg Industries mirror riser installed. That was quick and easy and actually makes a significant difference for the better.

Anybody have issues with their mirror falling off the riser? I’ve replaced the mirror already in case that was the issue, but after lots of bumps/washboard my mirror tends to fall off.

I contacted them a couple of years ago about it and basically just got “never heard of that ever being an issue before” and they stopped replying. I just gave up after that.

Who knows what ball joint press works to remove the lower ball joints? I have a Maddox set none for and the oem kit at auto zone doesn't have the right size sleeve either

Swapped out the old EBC yellow pads for a nice new set of yellows. Loved the last set that I installed last year with their ultimax rotors and has no reason to change to another pad. Went for a nice drive today to enjoy the weather and start bedding the new pads.

Is your mirror screwed down tightly onto the mirror riser? Maybe the screw is coming loose. Could try some loctite on the screw? I haven’t even driven my truck since installing the mirror riser so I can’t speak to any issues but that’s all I can think of.

anytime front cam! took way, WAY longer than i care to admit but everything was done 100% correct. soldered, loomed, tied, routed, painted brackets, etc.

just finished, i'll post more pics of the setup when i get it out into the sun to do some touch-up paint on my bumper...

No, however, the set screw can sometimes walk itself back. You have to straddle the line between too deep and just deep enough when putting it in there, too deep and one good bump will cause a stress fracture at that point in the glass, not deep enough and it walks out. I've found that some blue loc-tite on the set screw, then turn until it stops, then a slight 1/16 more, then let it dry, works pretty well.

You convinced me to finally pick one of these up. Button placement on the EVKCAR controller is a dead giveaway, I can almost guarantee both EVK and Pedal Commander share the exact same circuit board and firmware. Marketing is such a crazy thing to me, extra $100 for what...always thought that star on the controller made it look too brodozer-ish for me anyway LOL.
