I have a 2016. Recently noticed when the air conditioning is on “lo” at any interval, the truck blows out cold air. When set at anything above “lo”, ie 60 deg and above, the truck blows out warm air. This a thermostat related issue?

Sounds more like a failing interior temp sensor or blend door actuator to me based on your symptoms, I would want to see codes and data from the HVAC Control Module (A/C Amplifier).
Does it do it on both driver and passenger side?

That’s a good question. Let me do some tests today and I’ll get back with you.

Seems to be on both driver and passenger and both. Doesnt matter what setting the config is in whether is front window vents, front vents, floor vents or a combo. All blow cold air on 'LO' and hot air 60 deg and above.

I would suspect a failing interior temperature sensor, you really need to see what the sensors are reading to do any further troubleshooting.

Is that a dealership situation, or would an NAPA, or standard auto shop be able to diagnosis it ?

Anyone with the proper test equipment and knowledge should be able to properly diagnose it however finding that person can prove difficult, even many dealer techs just throw parts without proper testing.

I'll have to do my research. Winter is right around the corner here in Ohio, so I'm not to concerned at the moment.

I wish I had a better answer, it's unfortunate that's where our industry is.

Alot of the tools and knowledge to diganose computer controlled systems is outside the scope of the typical DIY and so many "technicians" don't take the time (or want to spend the time) to learn good diagnostic methods, they either blindly follow the manufacturer flowchart down the rabbit hole or read codes and change parts until they fix it, the customer runs out of money, or they run out of ideas.

I will say if you find a place that does proper testing and treats you right stick with them and tell others about them because parts changers are a dime a dozen, real diagnosticians are few and far between.

    Took a minute.

Had it scanned and concluded the room temperature sensor is bad and reading 20deg F which is probably why it’s always blowing hot air regardless of what temperature setting it was on.

Now we know the issue, I need to investigate how to fix.

Here’s what I’ve dug up so far. Not sure what this is supposed to be plugged into.
