To me it didn't feel like it sacrificed much top end power

Same reason OV tune nets a higher HP, more TQ and better MPG. Toyota only needs to hit a gov standard, they will stop right there and save innovations for the next gov hike of standards.

Now, I dont know if this spacer works or not, but I know long ago we would use velocity stacks on the intakes of our old BMWs to increase power.

...and another reason why looking at dyno peaks all day isn't what these trucks benefit from.

Yes sir I do . When I thought I had my pinion angle just right and with that additional ras suspension system , got a bit more axle wrap and need to adjust my ras suspension once again .

This has been around long before Tacoma's so don't know why people are doubting this... Short runners = more hp less Tq long runners are the opposite. It does not take a lot to make a big difference depending on cam profiles etc... My last Tiny small block hotrod Fi 4V V8 with a custum short runner intake manifold made 37 more HP at the rear wheels than the factory intake with a small loss in TQ... If this was all BS companies like Wilson Manifolds would not even exist.. lol

I'm running a Wilson manifolds tapered spacer on a Shafiroff racing 427sbc and it really works very well

Sounds like a waste of money. Over $300. and an afternoon of work, to lower HP and slow down throttle response.

No thanks, I'd rather do it correctly and change the Diff ratios.

diff change atleast for a 4x4 is around the realm of 3k dollars. so for 1/10 of that you can get some results and adjust the power band.

Yeah I have the Anderson engineering intake manifold spacer, ripp performance coils, afe throttle body, rear cats deleted, two oil catch can setup , premium fuel 92 octane , tuned , k&n performance intake with Blackhawk synthetic dry filter. Ras suspension systems for towing . I did 600miles yesterday from my place to bend Oregon and back . Used a tank and a half and did the math and I was getting 20mpg overall .

Well more like $1500. if you do it yourself. Either way money well spent, if you intend to wheel off-road.

If you really want to increase your performance for less than $300. install a good quality electric fan.

You could but some of us want to squeeze blood out of a turnip. Any advantage you can get out of these motors end results make you happy with the performance out of these engines . Wow lol hope that made sense . I do have plans of getting morimotos radiator and electric fan setup . I did a electric fan on my 92 3.0 and big difference. I know

Its $300 and it moves the power band, not everyone needs those extra 6hp at 5000 rpm and some would like a bit more on the bottom. Some of us also highway our trucks so spending FIVE TIMES more than this spacer to regear still has downsides.

You won't gain 20ftlb with an e-fan, especially not at low RPM.

Man, you are hard up on hating on this thing.

Ain't he . Im definitely glad I went with this mod . Like you said and I back it . I drive everyday on the highway and mainly 60mph and this made my daily commute so much better.

It should in no way affect fuel octane requirements. All it does is move around the resonant frequencies in the intake so that it resonates at a slightly lower rpm. Engine runs the same

Awesome. Thanks Firn. Not that I'm THAT cheap, but if I'm just looking for some efficient towing love I'd rather not add to the mpg cost if i don't need to.
