    Troops,

I have a newish truck with about 4k miles on it (recently purchased). TRD OR 4x4. White.

I only wash it about once a month - because it's a truck and I don't care that much. BUT I was washing it today and came across a couple tiny little paint dings. They're just chips in the paint. They catch on my fingernail and don't polish off etc. Fine. But what would you do with a white paint truck? I know there's been issues with them.

They're super tiny. But would you hit them with touch up paint? I feel like they're so small that any touch up paint would look dumb and force them to stand out. BUT I also don't want to the paint to start peeling in these spots.

Any white truck owners have an easy fix for such things? Nail polish? Would tiny little paint nicks like this even peel? I've had four Tacomas and I gotta say that these are kind of weird. I can't say I've ever had little paint nicks like these - but I've also never had a white truck before.

Nothing to worry about? Leave them alone?

Repair all dings with touch up paint or something else?

This is the beginning of where white paint starts peeling?

    Thx for any tips.

Hit them with touch up paint.
You need to keep moisture out.
I’d rather have a few small paint spots that look different than big spots of rust in 10 years.

I would cover the metal too.
Look in to the chip repair services. I used my dealer’s paint repair service and they did a super nice job for a good price.

When they’re that tiny I’ll use a toothpick instead of the brush from the touch up bottle.

    Thanks oooh good tip.

And when the previous poster says "cover the metal" you just mean with the touch up paint right? Not sure what else you would do with touch up paint though...

I think paint chips are just super obvious on white trucks. Would never have noticed it on gray, silver, or black etc.

Anyone have a good link to tacoma white touch up paint?

    Thanks

A touch up looks a lot better than a chip!

Yes just need to cover the metal to prevent rust. Nail polish remover is good for cutting. If you lookup Dr Color Chip on YouTube, they do excellent because they provide a small cloth you dap with a cutting agent (very mild) to help blend it and make it flush with the service. This is really for the OCD type but the priority is cover it up so it won't start rusting. If it does, game over. Better to have a small touch up bubble than rust.
