My truck has started to develop a what I'd refer to as a consistent chirping noise when going over 2000 RPM. Almost sounds like it's coming from the left of the engine, but can't tell. It's been happening every few days for the last three weeks.

    Any thoughts?

If it sounds like crickets chirping it is the High Pressure Fuel Pump

as i listened to it tonight, it was more of a whine than chirping.

Chirping noise is high pressure fuel pump. There is a TSB issued for that concern. I had mine replaced and no chirp since then, although dealer did not want to do at first since it was not chirping when they had the vehicle. My logic is if a customer complains of a certain issue and there is a TSB issued for that specific issue, perform TSB.

Your logic is sound. Dealer logic is more "if a customer complains about something, then it must be a normal characteristic of the vehicle."
