I'm not into crawling anymore, so my 2020 is stock. But I did my first ratio change in 88 on my 85, then did it again on my 91 runner, and my 88 LC.

Not difficult, just takes time and is messy.

I have a throttle body spacer and a K&N air intake, and along with the KDMax tune, it was well worth it to me.
Anyway, I just put my manifold spacer on. Not gonna go into detail because I'm about to make a thread about the install.
    So be looking for it.

Something to consider. Factory transmission shift patterns are matched to engine rpm/torque values. In other words- if the engine makes the most power between 1500-2500; the transmission gears to accommodate and match. When you change the RPM power curve, you negate how the transmission corresponds with the engine.

That kind of goes out the window once you add a tune. I’d assume someone installing this part is going to have a tune as well.

Now if you reset your transmission learning values you should be fine. I was

Interesting. I hate the lugging/slow response below 2500rpm with my manual. Will have to consider this before flashing the ecu.

Chris, I'm looking at doing the spacer. Do you need to make adjustments to my current tune or should everything be good to go?

Are you ignoring that there are reasons they do what they do? The #1 reason to buy a Tacoma over it's competitors is reliability. You start changing engine settings, tunes, etc, you now have turned the Tacoma into an unreliable Chevy.

wouldnt want to compromise the transmission by having it produce the same torque but at a different rpm. (italicized for sarcasm)

You are obviously missing the point and clearly uneducated on powertrain basics 101 (no sarcasm)

I should have realized this prior to my post after reading some other garbage you posted, and I quote, "diff change atleast for a 4x4 is around the realm of 3k dollars. so for 1/10 of that you can get some results and adjust the power band." when discussing intake spacers LOL. Same results? Priceless.

Lmfao !! This is by far the hottest take/topic about Tacoma. The little spacer. My two cents is everyone who is negative about the spacer thinks it’s changing WAY more than it is. Also with tuning- apparently the KD max pro tune is built/designed by 3 separate retired race car drivers or individuals in the industry. & the dealer can not even tell it’s tune unless you tell them. All is easily returnable to stock too for warranty issues * the tune ?! Is for drive-ability* not MAXIMUM RPM no red line tune. :crapstorm::burnrubber::censored:
