Evening gents, hopefully a quick question. My 5-lug has some serious squat in the back, has been developing for a few years; its starting to annoy me. I'd estimate a negative rake of about an inch. Given that the truck started with positive rake id assume a drop of 1.5-2". I have a cap and keep approx 100lbs of gear in it; not a real heavy load for a truck, so im confused as to why they are already giving up the ghost. My question is, is it better to replace the whole leaf pack or add a leaf?

Given that you have topper, I think AAL be the best economical approach.

Alternative to that would be air bags.

I put in sumo springs before I replaced the whole leaf pack

My vote is a long aal and new rear shocks.

thanks all, i'll shop around for an aal, sure is way less expensive than a full pack. I had never heard of sump springs until it was mentioned here, its an interesting design, wouldn't have thought to look for anything like that

AAL on an old spring set will just sag again, it will lift it up for a month max, then sag right away. Save your money for a pack.

Sumo springs work on sagging or new springs so its a better choice as interm. Make sure its for a 5 lug axle over spring if you do go that route.

Last time I ordered stock springs they were less than two hundred dollars per side from Rock Auto.

That's a good point about old springs re-sagging again.

    I'm curious, will springs from a 6-lug bolt onto a 5-lugger?

Yes and no. Yes it will bolt it but it has no arch compared to the 5 lugs since its spring over vs spring under.
