Some might call it camping, but this was an Elk hunting trip with my dad to Grand Teton/Yellowstone in October / November 2000. We were there for 4 weeks. First week it was in the 50's, beautiful weather. Then winter hit with a sledgehammer. Next 3 weeks it was down to -20*F overnight and never got above 20*F in the day time. That was by far the coldest hunt I ever went on. And the longest. I was on sabbatical from work, 8 weeks of time off. This is our normal hunt camp. My dad's WW2 Army surplus tent, homemade wood stove for heat.

These pictures were taken with a disposable 110 pocket camera, so they are not the greatest quality. My dad's '96 (I think?) Toyota on the left in the bottom picture.

At 35 I would have loved to be there with y’all I loved the cold in hunting season. Now days I need my heat!

Good morning everyone! It’s going to be coffee grit bowls with sausage and cheese this morning and then a hike with the wife and the boy. If I can get them out from under the blanket.

So sorry to see this we lost our Jamie this past year to cancer. It never gets easier.

The tan interior is clean also and the odometer only reads 82k original miles . Those rims are from Method racing

Do you think that it will be even later then May before you get to go camping? I would imagine that the mud will be the biggest issue for you?

Share/talk away. I was amazed and appreciative at the support that members gave me last year when my heart was broken because I helped my GF take Clarence, the orange tabby, to the vet to end his suffering from cancer.

Just got back from the skin doc. She took a biopsy from my ear. Same ear as last time.
