I'm excited for spring/summer to be almost here. I wanted to see if anyone would be interested in sharing some trails within a couple hours drive of Seattle that would be good for a family looking to get out and go camping.

I have 3rd gen Tacoma Off-Road that I installed a canopy/RTT/awning on and looking to get the family outside this summer. Starting to research spots that would be good weekend trips.

I'm looking forward to also heading out to Vantage for some climbing and camping over night before it starts getting too hot out there.

Well I would be down for some vantage climbing, but not sure about offroading spots around there. Tahuya is a great place to test your rig and fun to combine with a ferry ride if you're coming from the city.

If you are going to wheel around Vantage, i.e. Colokum, best to have E- rated tires and 2 spares. No shit. The volcanic rock up there will tear you apart. Might want to look south to Yakima then west up the Divide Ridge above Rimrock lake.

If you're out by vantage, it's worth checking out a place called Lion's Rock in Ellensburg. Some pretty easy trails with some pretty nice views. If you want mud and miles of trails, the logging roads on the Olympic Peninsula can get you to some pretty cool spots.
