been reading & searching, still learning the format. if this is posted somewhere? just point me that way. :)

got an 03 taco. some type of a/c issue.

when it sits still little to no a/c. some times it blows super hot.

then when you get moving? it either blows hotter or it gets super cold.

seems like if you change the fan speed it goes wacko, same on positioning dial.

is this a common thing? controller issue?

a nudge in the right direction is appreciated.

    thanks!

There is a resistor that controls the fan speed.....
under glove box.....when that starts to go out....weird things can happen.....

Because of that ......I always run the fan either full on, or completely off.
....to save wear and tear on that resistor......

If you've had Casablanca fans you know what I'm talking about....
their $70 IC rheostat keeps going out....

Ill add to the thread, because CBA make one, my AC is cold as shit sometimes but I have issues with it.

Sometimes at idle it will get semi warm.

The LP line has frosted over before, and is slightly oily which makes me think the old line is seeping.

My thoughts are, either bad fan clutch, expansion valve, and replace LP line.

appreciate the input from you guys!

never done my own a/c work, dont have gauges, machine for recovery & so on. my a/c guy said he would check it for leaks/level & then if we have to get into the system we'll follow that big thread posted here & just replace everything why its apart.

thats a bit of a booger to get to that expansion valve!

soooo much to learn as a Tacoma noob!
