Also thinking of things, what do you guys keep on you for tire patchs in the event of a puncture while on the road? Mushroom plug or tried n true patch kit strips?

I carry one of these. I've never had to use it yet, though.

    I also carry a battery-powered inflator.

I was overly optimistic about my gut size, so the jacket I ordered didn't fit. It did however fit my buddy like it was made for him, and his cheapo jacket was too small, so I gave him that one. Mixed feelings, as I wanted it to fit, but I'm glad it didn't so he's better protected.

He also gave me my first mod for the bike. I love it. :D

I'm the noob, so my opinion is worth little, but I plan to run the standard rope plugs. I already leaned that way and the fortnine video, along with multiple stories and pics of gnarly holes making it back to safety, tipped me all the way to them.

Dyna plug kit and a small compressor. Used successfully on the road and ran that tire an additional 6k miles before changing. Check the plugs in the kit each season and replace with new every 2-3 seasons to be safe.

Platinum? Damn! You sir have my serious respect!

I'm debating going to the IBR start or finish in June since it's going to be reasonably close for me. Have a few friends that will be participating.

I’ll try to remember to post pics when done. Just ordered a few days ago and it’s on the way now. Hopefully I’ll be able to install this weekend. I got this from vagabond:

I got the Stop & Go kit for the air compressor since it's so compact. I did try the mushroom plugs and one of them held up but the other did not. I'd just get a $5 kit of rope plugs and rubber cement instead.

Ha as much as I could on a fatass DRZ with super soft suspension anyway. Appreciate the compliment though! I'd love to see how I'd do on the same ride with my Husky now and 2 dual sports + endless trail time in the past year since that ride happened last year.

I believe it's 2 cycles that you have to wait, but waiting 3 is better safe than sorry lol.

As far as proving it to an LEO, to my understanding if you explain it to them, and show them that it won't change for your bike by sitting on that light again, they should let you go. I'd like to think most would let you go without a display as long as you didn't run the light dangerously

I run it after one cycle but try my best to make sure a LEO isn't watching.

Just ordered this - thanks for the heads up! I really like how it self-stores.

Naw, i like being self sufficient, eff waiting hours for AAA over something I can fix in 5 min and be on my way.

Normally id just go rope with rubber cement like i always have, BUUUUT I recently started using balancing beads on my street tubeless tires and there would definitely be some balance beads sticking to the excess rubber cement. How much... probably just enough to take away the stick and let the rest float around and do their job but id be paranoid about a big clump then a SUPER unbalanced tire haha.
