    Hello Tacoma friends!

I have a 2013 4.0L V6 base model crew cab, and the front passenger window seems to have chosen against life. Originally thought it was just off the track, popped off the door panel and took a look, turns out the glass surround channel bracket is just right mangled. Has anyone had this before? Did you find a cause? How much of a nuisance was the fix, is it worth doing myself or sending to a shop? TIA, i will try to find some pics to attach here

It's not too hard to work inside of the door if you don't have stubby sausage fingers. There's enough space when you peel back the clear plastic weather membrane.

Just keep in mind the bolts that hold stuff together inside there are lightly torqued. Most of them will strip out if you try to tighten them without first looking at the service manual which has the torque specs.

Have you ever had the door open hard.
Like the wind catch the door and slam it open?

There’s been more than a few people had this happen and it bent the window tracks.

This was also my first thought.
Replace the channel and the door check (which is probably bent)

One of my crew members mentioned that someone had side swiped a tree on that side not too long before the issue started happening, but there isnt any damage to the outside of the door so that doesnt seem like the most logical answer to me
