Once again - sadly - somebody discovers that you get exactly what you pay for with headlights.

Well I didn't get what I paid for with the original lenses. Melted and sun damaged over time and missed Toyota's sketchy TSB that expired and I think was extended. Should have been a recall.

After doing tons and tons of research, I broke down and bought OEMs. Aftermarket OEM-knockoff taillights have treated me great, but everything I see on headlights is they won't last. I just installed my new headlights last weekend. I didn't even need to adjust them. They were dead on where my stocks were. Wonder if they are pre setup for manufacture/factory install or something?

There's a thread on here that seemed to have found the best price of Toyota dealers. I think I spent a lil over $500 shipped.

Sure, because things should never, ever break or wear out. Only thing that melted on mine (and assuming yours too) was the DTRL section. The headlights still work.

I don't know of anything that wouldn't deteriorate over time due to sun exposure.

BTW, I too got baited into buying cheap-o $100/set (with bulbs) flea-bay housings. Yeah, I got what I paid for as did you. Couldn't adjust them either, but luckily they were essentially aimed perfect & I hardly drive at night. So no problem for me. Light output does suck tho.

    Good luck.

Yeah I'm sending these back. lack of adjustment and complaints of moisture. I checked the reviews but I guess I didn't do a good job. They are definitely not set up out of the box to aim right. I tried the old 25 ft from the wall adjustment and the right side was way above the tape.

I will look into the OEM units and see if I can find the thread.

Only reason my genuine Spyders were so cheap is it was an open box from someone buying the wrong year.
