I was wondering about that too. The satellite view appears to show about 2/3rds of that road as paved.

I don't know what it used to look like, but it felt more like driving in a bowl of soup than solid ground.

Here's how Google maps shows it. Notice that large gap between Ranch Road and Irish Valley Road? That's where this sloppy non-existent road is. Covered by tree canopy on satellite.

Fascinating. Both Gaia and OnX show it as a through road.

Going through photos slowly but surely, more to come soon-ish. When I broke away after Potosi and did the rest of the southern TWAT, I came back up through Iowa. Spotted this funky 4Runner with the wildest wrap I've seen. Has an Andrew Toyota plate frame so I'm assuming they are from MKE area. Small world. (Not pictured here: meth tweakers down the side street doing interpretive dance. East Dubuque is something.) @Thatbassguy @McSpazatron @Stoney Ranger this is calling your names lol.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
    Another vid:

Adam, @wi_taco: you were right, speed is a lot better now. Uploading was by far the holdup. And, relearning DaVinci Resolve is complicated by also learning v18. Damn, this program has a lot more to it than I may possibly ever be capable of using.

It says video is posted but HD still converting...

Very nice, glad your PC upgrades are paying off! DaVinci 18 isn't that much different, just need to get used to the little changes. HD is done processing now, should be all good.

Some photos from camp at Wyalusing. Friday camp setups as people were trickling in.

    20230414-TW-01-WyalusingCamp-03.jpg

Sunset was a bit subdued but it's hard to find a bad view across the valley.

    20230414-TW-01-WyalusingCamp-02.jpg

@Thatbassguy channeling his inner Tom Cruise a la Cocktail. Never before have I seen Old Fashioneds slung at such speed and accuracy.

    20230414-TW-01-WyalusingCamp-04.jpg

@WiscoPat giving free advertising for the other Pat's tire tables and just living the good life. I think we discussed the photo and I was told to photoshop something like SPONSORED BY YETI here but you'll just have to enjoy the original photo instead lol.

    20230414-TW-01-WyalusingCamp-05.jpg

The lineup before heading out on the TWAT. Missing a few in this shot but they are somewhere nearby. Parking lot just isn't built to hold a group this size.

Rain clouds loomed over as we traveled from Wyalusing to Mount Hosmer Park in Lansing, Iowa.

    20230414-TW-02-MountHosmer-01.jpg

    20230414-TW-02-MountHosmer-02.jpg

The parking lot atop the bluff was exactly the right size to fit our convoy which now counted 17.

    20230414-TW-02-MountHosmer-03.jpg

Views across the Mississippi River / Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge require no further description. The rain helped keep down trail dust a little and added drama to the photos.

it is paved on the south end. About a mile or a little less is gravel or dirt. I was just saying it looked paved because video sucks all context and makes it look flat lol

Photos from the start of our run on the TWAT on Saturday.

I didn't understand the assignment when posing on the bridge. Should have pulled up on an angle. Chalk it up to being a noob and being slightly rushed from traffic trying to get by.

    20230414-TW-03-TWATpart1-02.jpg

@Supr4Lo then demonstrated how it's done, though I regret not lining up the shot to perfectly center with the bridge beams.

    20230414-TW-03-TWATpart1-04.jpg

Hard to get bad photos of this beast. Overcast conditions today really compliment the grey paint color.

    20230414-TW-03-TWATpart1-03.jpg

Gotta give the first gens some love too. @R.A.. 's green machine looks very much at home here.

Thanks, happy to share! Just takes some time for post-processing. Making pretty good headway though. Quite a bit more still to come, 562 total photos taken and some video too.

Group #1 arrived first to Potosi Point on the mighty Mississippi. Several other non-TW visitors came and left, but for the most part we controlled this tiny peninsula during our visit.

And of course if there is a rock to pose on, it will be discovered & exploited quickly.

Group #2 arrived a short time later, and although a few other members broke off to see the brewery, our take-over of the parking area was complete.

Edit 4/27/23: Drone photos removed, it turns out the maps I was looking at were wrong and I shouldn't have flown here. This is the Upper Mississippi National Wildlife & Fish Refuge where drones are not allowed.

All your pictures look like fun (I’m envious). It’s gonna be a couple weeks yet before we can do that up here in Bayfield County. These pictures were taken this morning off of County Highway C west of Washburn going south towards INO on Fire Road 236.
It’s lightly snowing now .( again ugh)
