Switched to some cheap steel wheels when my alloys got ugly, need new tire this summer, was thinking about getting the TPMS working again after five years of the light being on. I know there’s a bunch of threads on this, but everyone had cool guy wheels and I’m just double checking to see if the regular aftermarket TPMS sensors will work with these wheels and also what’s the way to get them programmed and working.

Truck is a 2006 DCSB TRDOR that I’m bringing back to life after some years of neglect!

    Thanks!

Will these work, or is there something else I should get…Rock Auto is hit or miss sometimes

If they're preprogrammed they'll come with the codes. Then use this guy to blow the new codes into your truck:

I have one of these to change over to my winter/summer sets. It's great, but note it doesn't program TPMS themselves, only your vehicle.

If you kept your ugly alloys, now's the time to paint them. You can have the whole set blasted real cheap (call around to powdercoaters and ask for just blasting - I pay about a hundred bucks for a full set) and put a decent paintjob on them. Pick a common color/brand so they're easy to touch up.

Did you ever find that these were the correct TPMS for the steelies? I'm doing the same as you.

First, I replaced a TPMS I broke with a matching one off Amazon. Had it programmed like $20 at Costco. They used to do this for free.
They have like a $1000 tool/machine/scanner thing that’s make model universal.

second, they might fit your new steelies.

third, if you are looking for steelies, you can put FJ or OE ones that should fit it

4, if you’re looking for cheap steelies, OE and OE FJ steelies are both cheaper than the price shown in your screenshot.

Idk if steelies are ideal. They come with thin width, may have less brake airflow, and weigh more than aluminum.
Used aluminum can be found for like $200/set.

less width could mean tire size limitations but also possibly less weight due to less material, when comparing aluminum to aluminum. Like stock 17x7? Or whatever it is
    Vs Method 17x8.5

That's why I'm asking. There are apparently two versions of the sensor. I was hoping to find the part number of the right one.

Thanks for the help everyone. I ended up with sensors from TPMS direct and they wired perfectly.
