    .

-GM Rocker panels have left the chat.

On a serious note, go to Autotrader and search for any model and then see what the high mileage ones are. Bet you find a LOT more Toyotas with 200,000 than you find GMs over that amount.

I would rather the Toyota, though to be fair I had a major engine failure in 4 years/70K with my old Colorado and the dealers and main office all lied right to my face and swindled me out of thousands.

You might’ve paid on the high side, but it’s a Toyota so a line of folks will still give you good money at 250k mi.

Not only are they reliable motors, but 2GR’s are very common throughout other Toyotas & Lexus vehicles, so reputable independent shops all over can do your service work a lot cheaper than a dealership.

I guess it depends on what part of the country you are in. A quick search in my area (Portland, OR) says that you paid a very reasonable price.

You guys gotta see some of our second gen market out here. 08's with 400k still fetch 15,000 quite often

Not on the high side in my area... SRs are going for more. There is nothing close to 20k in my area and when there are, there are ones for 26-27k, they are snatched up quickly.

Well, at 191K, it's safe to say it's no lemon.

I bought a 2000 Tacoma 6 years ago with 289k for $6500. I still have folks wanting to buy it and I believe I could sell it today for $6500 with 362k miles.

Here's a pic from a few years ago when it had 350k. Don't let pic fool you, there plenty of chips on hood. High mileage vehicles can be nice. Interior looks just as nice.

Go to whatever shop you want, you'll just pay more at the dealership but if it gives you piece of mind, so be it. As for the drain and fill, they're exactly right. No flush at that mileage, just drain and fill ever year or 2 so it slowly cleans up.

The transfer case and differentials can be done no problem. Only thing with the transfer case is dealerships (and probably independent shops too) don't use the OEM 75w fluid that the manual calls for. They all use 75w90 which may or may not cause problems. The OEM fluid is anywhere from $70-100/qt so that's why most shops won't use it, hard sell for that price.

I believe you mean PCV valve? But yes definitely replace it, for $10 it is a no brainier.
