Anytime there's an interior picture w/ that stupid iPad glued to the dash, I'm going to post about how much I hate the lack of design and integration.

I kinda like that! The recent pics with those hideous fender flares have me a concerned, but I could get behind something like that. Closer observation has it looking a little too 3rd gen-ish. Maybe it’s the last 3rd gen off the line before the first 4th gen comes. Missing link like?

I blame space daddy for all the retarded cars with retarded iPads in place of a normal functional dash.

If it is real or the headlights sink in like that. I might have a problem by like 2026 model year. :D

Used to think giant screens were dumb, sure is nice for Forest Road exploring for panning out on the GPS, small screen is kinda pain in the ass. Think of it like holding an old paper map, compared to trying to see where you’re going on a Garmin.

No janky Ram mounts to deal with for us guys who like to mount GPS devices, nice solid large screen in the dash is a good thing.

I love having to navigate half a dozen touchscreen menus to do something basic like adjust the thermostat or change the radio station. The lack of physical, tactile buttons inside cars is an actual problem.

Tundras have plenty of buttons and stalks for common controls. Highly doubt the Taco will stray from that setup. What I like about Toyotas is controls haven’t changed much in the 30+ years I owned them. I can jump from my 1st Gen to my 3rd to my Aunts Prius and generally everything thing is in the same place.

But yeah I agree with ya scrolling on a sole screen would be a pain in the ass. Though with headlights and hvac going to auto, won’t be much to mess with it. Set it and forget about it.

I only become annoyed at the screen, when it’s vertical.

My mom has a TRX because she’s an absolute psychopath. This is what it looks like when you get in, there are aircraft that are less complex.

I test drove a Ford Edge. And it’s similar to the ram above. I found I was looking so far down to do anything that it honestly felt unsafe by design.

Like the Rams. Yeah don’t like that. Using my iPad to post on here, much prefer to use “landscape” oriented. I run ads on FB for my business, their app makes you use it “portrait” orientated. Drives me nuts.

It's ironic (to me)....you're suppose to keep your eyes on the road while driving yet there's a tv built into the dash. o_O

I see no problem with the large screen as long as they keep actual buttons for basic functions like climate/volume etc.

It all started going downhill when they installed cup holders.

I must be as old as your dad, I remember doing that…

My ‘71&’72 Chevelles, and ‘76 F250 didn’t have cup holders.

I’m 61 and yes I did it as well. Many cars without cup holders. I guess the memory of my dad doing this stuck more in my head.

List of cars I had without cup holders.

    ‘72 Plymouth Fury
    ‘69 BaJa Bug
    ‘75 Dodge Colt
    ‘69 GTO
    ‘72 Datsun 240 Z
    ‘71 CUDA
    ‘84 Toyota truck
    ‘83 Toyota Truck
    ‘88 4-Runner
Vehicles after this started to get cup holders.

Ha! You have 10 years on me. Bunch of our work vehicles were 80s and older. Think the service vans had cup holders because the dog house. The ‘76 F250 my dad bought new, bought it from him when it was retired as a work truck, I semi-restored it in the late 80s. Blew the engine up a year later, sold it to buy my first Toyota, ‘85 4Runner. Paid a whopping $6000 for.

Remember buying those cheesy holders that hung on the door. Think my first vehicle with them was my ‘92 Toyota truck, slid out from the dash, only held 12 Oz cans that will spill all over when you hit a bump.

Scariest moment for me was when I was a teen, neighbors dad had a hot rodded C10, he was giving us a ride somewhere, drunk off his ass, flying down the road holding a giant beer between his legs. Thought we were going to die! He was like “shuddup! And hang on you effin cry babies!”

My best laughs were when I had my ‘69 GTO or ‘71 CUDA and buddies were drinking in the front or back. When they weren’t expecting it I’d give a quick blip of the gas pedal and the power put them back in their seat. Along with their tipped beer all down the front of them. Oops!
