I have worked in the automotive repair industry for nearly 10 years... I've seen a lot of vehicles... Driven a lot of them too... The tundra doesn't have the most comfortable ride or nicest interior or most power... but you would not believe the issues that Ford, GM, Ram, and Nissan have...

Also, I'm not buying new... thats like $50k+... I'm going for a 2015 Limited

About three years ago I went from a 2011 Tacoma to a 2018 Tundra. I knew I didn't want a Tundra that was 2019 or newer, because that's when they got rid of the transmission cooler. I want to be able to pull my camper longer distances easier than what the Tacoma was able to do. I was fortunate to get into my Tundra before the car market went completely bonkers in 2020.

My gas mileage experience is exactly like what you described coming from a Tacoma to a Tundra: Taco was lifted (and regeared to 4.56) on 33's (255/80r17) and I got about 13 mpg and now I get about the same in the Tundra (and actually a lot better than the Tacoma got on longer drives sometimes around 17 mpg) but I have a lot more power.

Good luck with getting the new truck!
