My personal experience with the Nitto’s was horrible performance in rain.

    never had wild peaks

I’m back to bfg at’s And Toyo at3 both Just seem to last the longest and perform the best

I just did ridge grapplers last week. They replaced a set of wildpeaks. I had balancing and dry rot issues with my peaks(many have reported the same). It took 3 tries to get them balanced right. Only my local Toyota dealer could get them to balance decent.

These ridge grapplers balanced(not road force) fine the first try and provide a much smoother ride. Noise is about the same. Haven't tested them off road or in snow yet. Rain traction was fine. Imo the nitto is a better looking tire as well. Looks more aggressive.

A friend of mine has the toyos and loves them. Great tire as well, just not as aggressive looking.

Very false. The nitto is a very different tire from cost, construction, weight etc. Sounds like you are the one who needs to do the research.

The difference in the two tires should be clear and easy to tell based on the specs posted on the 7,000 tire websites on the internet, asking random strangers for advice on the most talked about topic here is insane. I'll leave you guys to argue about every tiny detail between them and go drive mine in the mountains.

I personally think Wildpeaks are flaming garbage and would not recommend them at all. Many have had good experiences, but many have also had bad experiences. No experience with Ridge Grapplers, but I'd choose them over Wildpeaks. They are from the same parent company as Toyo anyways.

I have been extremely pleased with Toyo ATIIIs, and I was decently pleased with General Grabber A/Tx. I have no intention of deviating from Toyo unless one of a few things happens: they’re discontinued, size i want isn’t available, quality goes down, or an option that compares and is proven to be better is released.

As "insane" as I may have been to post this up, I have actually gotten a lot of helpful feedback. Isn't that what forums are for??

When did wildpeaks vs ridge grapplers become the most talked about topic on TW?

Youve been a member for a few months. Get off your high horse lol.

Asking people for advice is what forums are for....I don't get what point you are trying to make. Plus no one is arguing in this thread except for you.

Well not really. Wildpeaks have the 3 peak snowflake rating.

Same year, model and make jeeps. Same tire pressures. Jeep in front running BFG AT's, I'm running Nitto Ridge Grapplers. We did a special trip to figure out which one was better (for me). The ridge grappler had way more traction in every instance. In this vid, you can hear the BFG's struggling for grip vs. no struggling when I went over the same line.

Depending on what load rating you get ; c or e, take a look at the weight of the tires... wildpeaks are fairly heavy in comparison to other tires

Toyo or Wildpeak (my first choice) for ID weather?

My Taco is moving to ID soon and need something that will work for the snow/rain there as opposed to SoCal. Had my mind made up for Wildpeaks to replace OEM Kevlar (garbage) but now I'm not sure?

EDIT: No wheeling, mostly street duty AFAIK. Gifting the truck to my teenager for college.

Slightly better traction on WPs, but a much better quality tire overall with Toyo. The Toyos are not dangerous in wet climate, they are far better than many tires. I’d go toyo.

I like my Toyo AT3s except for the mocking I get from friends and family. In the sl rating they are about the least aggressive looking at tire. I've got some folks who like to compare them to their LT rated mud tires and then ask if I'm due to replace my tires soon.

They have been great in rain, solid on ice and not loud. They aren't MTs and don't clear mud particularly well but thats expected.

Just be aware OP, if you are buying for looks and considering the at3 find one in real life to look at first. It's not bad it just isn't aggressive (from my peanut gallery)

    Work in progress...
Yep, and I had now idea, until this last winter, that KO 2's have the 3 peak snowflake rating. Actually to be honest the KO2's did really good in the mixed snow rain and ice conditions that I wasn't expecting to put them through. I was extra careful for sure after hearing all the reports of how horrible they are in snow and rain and ice. I probably still have some people in Northern Utah cussing up a storm after driving behind me.
