Just left the land of salt and ice, now permanently settling in Southern Arizona. I want to take this opportunity to attack any rust and corrosion and stay ahead of it. Anyone with recommendations on what they used to clean up their suspension? Do I need to tear them down and have them treated or something? I will be attacking any surface rust on the underbody as well. Looks like I can wire brush, replace bolts with stainless, and then paint that area.

    Nothing yet...
I just bought a tacoma that came from Michigan and I need to do the same for the frame and some bolts. I would recommend taking the suspension apart... you never know what you "can't see" that might be hiding that needs attention.

I have already taken care of the skid plate. I used a wire wheel and a corded drill (18v cordless just doesn't have the power) to get most of the rust off. I then painted it with duplicolor primer and paint.

Ive been struggling with this for the past few days, trying to figure out what to do preventitively on my kings. I was going to ceramic coat, then PPF the bodies, now im just going to go with boeshield t-9.

Just first coated the new shocks off the truck and wiped them down. Will let them dry then after install ill hit them again. Ill then probably have to spray them down every few car washes. I saw some people love it....

Id love to see what your rear shocks look like. Do you have the guards installed on the rear? How old are those kings?

LED interior, license plate, and fog lights. More to come.
On the steel & aluminum you can try a product called "Sharkhide Metal Protectant". Pontoon boat guys swear by it fir keeping polished pontoons shiny. It's like a clear coat but not a paint. Over the course of a couple of years it wears away and needs reapplication. I coated my 5100's before installing them but have only had them on for a few weeks. My last set of 5100's looked like shit after one NY winter.
