I’ve been smelling oil burning and looks like transmission fluid leaking onto the exhaust where it crosses under the front of the drive shaft. Any experience with this? Thanks

Did you check the plugs? Are you sure it’s transmission fluid and not coolant? You’re going to look

You saying its leaking from the back of the transfer case?

Best way to track down a leak is to clean the entire area well with degreaser and monitor closely. Oil leaks spread easily from one point to another by the wind from driving. And colors of the fluid can change too as the oil picks up dust and dirt so thats not always a great indicator

Yea I’m not sure. I just smelled it last night when I got out the truck. I looked underneath and saw it smoking off the exhaust where it crosses under. I’ll have to investigate my next day off

could be lots of things, if you can't track it down with a shop light, try thoroughly cleaning everything first and check often. GL
