S35VN is very good stuff, if these are M390, that is a real nice knife! And actually not too bad on the prices for that level of steel. I get the appeal of a folder, but I just don't quite trust them as much as a fixed blade. And folders are usually $$$ more than a fixed blade anyway.

I've always wondered if it's a small town thing or if it happens everywhere....

The guy (women don't do this) that's pretty high up (let's use banking as an example) at the bank, yet not the top dog. Anyhow, this asshole walks into a restaurant and has to make his rounds; shaking hands with half the folks there while whomever he is with goes to a table and waits
I cant stand that guy, just go sit yer fat ass down like everybody here...we saw you walk in, you dont have to make a special appearance.
The top dog (at the bank) doesn't do this, people walk over to his table so they can kiss his ass.
Higher up women don't make a big production at a restaurant, it's just idiot, ass kissing guys.

 

it's everywhere. As you said, people are dicks. Especially those who think they are better than others, just because. It may be more noticeable in a small down and probably more widespread in a bigger city.

We just had a guy leave our department and company who was the epitome of, I'm better than you and everyone else and thought he walked on water. Well, his shortcomings are now rearing their head with some of the massive mistakes he made along with broken promises.

i know first hand. I had supervisor schedule a job perfomance meeting on me friday after work daythen proceeded to try to BS and shoot the shit with me. Im pretty sure he didnt want to go home.
