What is this thing?? (2007 Tacoma Sport)

Hi there.

I need help identifying some stuff that other owners have installed/modded.

one of them looks like a in-line fuel filter.
But im not quite sure.

And also what does this splice do? Near the ABS(I think it’s the ABS)
I’m assuming it turns off the ABS?

Still figuring out the quirks of my new ride

One thing for sure, it is not a fuel filter. Forget what it's called, but I know someone is going to remind me and let you know. No telling what the wire connection is...

 

Disconnect it and see what happens.

 

In line transmission filter probably... Crack the hose slightly and see what color the fluid is.

As for the electrical connection, I'd have to see where it runs to.

 

That is the pulse dampener/resonator for the EVAP system, it's just a hollow can not a filter.

Now that you know what the other part is, let's turn to the electrical connection - which is definitely not factory. I'd take a test light and see if that's a hot / positive lead right away. If it is, it needs to be protected / insulated right away.

 

Disconnect it and see what happens or doesn't happen. Probably get an ABS Code too.
