I just picked up a ‘13 base model, just wondering what size wheel and tire I can go up to without a lift kit

Keep in mind your gonna change the final drive ratio quite a bit if you don’t regear to match. That can make 1st & reverse startups annoying and accel sluggish. There’s a reason 5-lugs have different rear axle ratios than 6-lugs, it’s called little engine turning little tires on little rims. That said, if you make consistent accommodations you can have your big wheel taco.

    I think it’s a stock size 215 70r 15 I think. I don’t want a lot bigger just a little something to make it look better.

    For sure, check out https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/largest-tire-size-on-stock-5-lug.127279/
Looks like 235 75 15 is as big as you can go stock.
You can check out If you want something better looking Toyo ATIII or Goodyear Duratrac, look for low tire weights if you mainly stick to pavement.

The second number relates to sidewall proportion so you can go to 75r to get a bigger look without increasing tread width(1st number). This is known as pizza cutter style. Staying at 70r and increasing tread width will increase both dimensions giving a more planted look. A more sporty look is to increase rim size while reducing sidewall height. While not very great visually the tire size calculator lets you play around with different sizes and see both visually and mechanically how things change. Some tire & wheel websites have similar aps that include the truck in the visual.
