There are not a whole lot of Tacomas available, but these are my Toyotas. (3 Tacomas)

I found some tool boxes that have all the drawers that are shallow; usually they have one or two shallow and the rest deep. These will work great for this, so I got one for the Matchbox/Hot Wheels truck collection and one for knives.

Does anyone else seem to swing by the Hot Wheels/Matchbox section every time they are in a store that sells them? Me too...lol

    Yes, every time.
Interesting thing is that everytime I am there, I see other adults looking for cars. Hardly ever young kids who are looking for Matchbox or Hot wheels.

Looked again today, but they didn't have any Toyotas. But I did score this beautiful BMW 507:

That was a new one, so fingers crossed they'll bring in some Toyota trucks in the future.

I used to be a collector of many things years ago, mainly sports figures though. Met another collector back then and still bump into him on rare occasion. He’s been collecting Hot Wheels for at least 25 years at this point. Can’t imagine what his collection must look like.

I got burnt out on the grind of collecting, spending so much time at stores, competing against other collectors, etc. Just sapped all the joy out. Life is too short. I learned it’d be cheaper to just pay aftermarket for something I really want versus the time, effort, and gas spent trying to track it down for retail.

My collection actually started as a joke. My wife would buy Starbucks every time we go shopping. I don't do Starbucks, so one day when she was standing in line to get coffee (starbucks in Target) I saw a Matchbox truck I liked so I bought it. An hour later I asked my wife where her $5 coffee was. She had nothing to show, but I had a $1 truck to show. From then on every time she bought a coffee I would buy a Matchbox or Hot Wheels truck, until I had all the models available at the time. Now I will glance through there every time I go to Walmart or Target, and get something I don't have yet. But it's not a very serious collection, just a fun relatively cheap hobby.
