I was working with my son to replace injectors and find oil leaks today on a 96 2.7 litter. When we got the injector rail pulled off I found an orange plug in the side of the engine. It had been leaking oil. It looks like someone just stuck it in because they lost whatever plate or line was there. What should be in this place instead of the the plug, or is it really suppose to be there.? I can't find anything online. Even the YouTube videos don't have this port on their engines.20230423_154838.jpg 20230423_154843.jpg

Yep probably a camshaft pos sensor location on a different engine setup. This tooth on the cam may have been used to help it determine TDC or something. But for whatever reason it didn't get used on this engine

Thanks for the help. I will start looking for a can position sensor delete and see what is available.

THatt, even if I had stumbled on that post, I lack the knowledge to tie them together, at least until the pics, and I wouldn't have made it that far.
