Ok, I’ve read a bunch of posts trying to figure out if 265/70R17 on TRD pro rims will Fit on a stock Tacoma with mud flaps, even made a thread on it and everything I’ve read is completely 50/50. I’ve read either they do or don’t so don’t know what to believe, how can it work for someone but not for someone else so looking for true life experiences with this.
Also I want to level it without a lift, I’d love to lift it but because my Tacoma is going to be the sport premium double cab long box they won’t put the TRD lift on it and warranty it because it’s not listed as a option. I’ve read up on the 5100 bilstein adjustable and can’t figure out the difference in springs in terms of factory or aftermarket. Also if I do a level kit like that do I need a wheel alignment and do I need different upper control arms. The vehicle is going to be a every day vehicle but will be used for hunting and fishing so I need it to work flawlessly but also want to be able to put it back stock quickly if I need to take it in and also don’t want to put something on the truck that is going to cause extra strain and premature wear.
Can you guys plz spell it out for me as to what the simplest and most effective way to level my truck and also true life experiences as to if the above tires n rims will fit on my truck without rubbing even when I’m beating the pants off it during hunting season.
    Thnx in advance

    Enough for now
put some lift spacers on the coil overs and under your leaf springs to level it, maybe 1” blocks all around

That wheel/tire combo will fit fine with no or minimal rubbing.

If the warranty is a concern a level will void your suspension warranty just as much as a full lift.

If you never haul anything leveling is fine. Leave it be if you haul anything. It's a truck.

most people who level their truck go back to the stock raked position. a leveled trucks look horrible imo. if youre not using the truck as a truck..why did you get it? some people wanna see the world burn I guess...

Mine came with just under one inch difference between front and rear. Every stock tacoma I have seen was in that neighborhood, and to my eyes, that amount of rake is what looks "level" to me.

I like to keep it at just over one inch delta unloaded, and true level when its hitched to the trailer plus 150 pounds payload.

Leveling my pro made it harder to see over the fully functional practical and stylish hood scoop when wheeling.

What does leveling have to do with using? Are they now mutually exclusive? I didn’t get that memo.

Any real weight in the bed will turn a level truck into a Carolina Squatted truck. No truck that is used as a truck is level unloaded. It's silly.

IDK Man, I guess if you simply assume everything that goes into a truck has substantial weight, then sure, but assuming that is the silly part. Nobody buys a Taco for it's hauling chops...

I had around 600 lb of lumber in the bed this weekend. I have a utility trailer on it right now to pick up a machine tonight after work.
I think people who buy pickups and don't haul anything think everyone is like them. I live in South Carolina and there are hundreds of Tacomas around my town, from 1st to 3rd gen. Very few pavement queens and most have signs of being used as a pickup. As a matter of fact, most Tacomas around here are stock. Most Tacomas around here don't offroad beyond going off the road to do work. Imagine that.

I have the factory tonneau cover, but even with a few hundred lbs in the bed the truck still sits pretty level. I've measured it unloaded, there's about a 1/4'' to 1/2'' front to rear and side by side difference. Truck has no lean what some claim they are suppose to have.

Not everybody does that though. Some people load up with paddle boards. Some people load up with ass wipe. To say somebody isn't using a truck like a truck because they don't haul the heavy things like someone else does doesn't mean they shouldn't own a truck. We don't debate why the speedometer goes as high as it does when we all know the truck doesn't want to go that fast...

Respectfully, this is not really an argument of semantics. All of your examples, paddleboards included, can be hauled by a honda civic. No one is attacking your right to own a truck. They are simply stating that you shouldn't level it if you intend to actually use the truck for something more than a neighborhood grocery getter. And also opining that a level kit looks silly to people who use their truck for more than that.

“Leveling” the truck also reduces the already shitty departure angle. Just saying.

That tire size will fit without issues with a 1/2" spacer in front. I have 265 75 16's and had KO2's. with the 1/2" toytec spacer and new studs it did not rub at all. With my new duratracs in the same size I get some rubbing at full turn when I hit a big g out driveway, its just barely rubbing on the front and if I trim like 1/8" of plastic it will be fine.

I highly recommend the toytec 1/2" spacer with longer studs. Ive had 1/4" spacer without new studs and It just doesnt look great with thread engagement, althought wasnt a problem... The 1/2" spacer gave me 1" and perfectly leveled the truck. It was super easy to install as well in the garage when you do the method where you unbolt the spindle and can easily and safely remove the coils from the strut without any spring compressors! (find the video about that, again its super easy!) Also knocking out the old top hat studs and installing the new ones was super easy with a long socket!

    Go get it done!

am i the only one wondering what the point of "leveling" the truck is? mine seems perfectly level from the factory. i'm not about to screw with the truck's geometry by adding lift blocks.

There is a video out there where the guy is talking and showing front end travel and dimensions. Seems pretty legit. Looks like 1/2" spacer on top will actually improve travel, but anything more will cause negative issues.
