    Hey all,

I’m replacing the battery on my 08 v6 Tacoma. Wanted to ask if there are good or bad batteries and what batteries y’all recommend. Thanks!

IMO whatever is easiest to get in your area that has a good warranty, there's only a few manufacturers of batteries these days anyway they just put different brands on them.

I run Interstate myself just because we are a dealer where I work and I get a discount on them.

Walmart Everstart is best bang for the buck according to project farm. OEM seems to be the longest lasting though hands down, just really expensive.

I’ve not had good luck with ever start batteries.

    I second the interstate suggestion.

How will you be using it? Straight factory vehicle? Winch? High wattage sound system? Your usage can make a big difference.

My dad has had decent luck with the EverStart Max batteries in tractors and farm equipment but their value line EverStart batteries are garbage, they might last a year or 2 at best.

I used interstate for years. Got an optima, 1 before and 1 after quality went down. Now back to interstate. The tru-something that was in my Tacoma lasted 7 years, which is unusually good. I’m lucky to get more than 3 1/2 years out of an interstate.

Every brand has their cheap end, middle of the shelf and top shelf options. It doesn't particularly matter which brand you get, depends more on the price range. You get what you pay for

Interstates are great, that's what we stock at work. We carry the MT and MTP lines, and few oddball ones for specific cars like prius and such. Everybody knows Costco boasts about a sub-100$ Interstate but those are the cheap/bargain basement ones, I think they're labeled just "I" (for Interstate) not even a MT type.

In my opinion, anything under 150-160$ is questionable

Like Dm mentioned, just go with something under warranty and stocked at a parts store within walking distance lol

Interstate batteries are produced by other manufacturers but they have a reputation for high quality. If you have a Costco membership, you can get a good deal there. They also carry some AGM batteries but are harder to find in stock.
