Planning on replacing my tires soon and decided to replace the TPMS valve stem sensors to turn off dash warning light that’s been on forever. My question is in regards to a 2006 base model with steel wheels and if I’m going to need to replace the sensor on the spare also to get the warning light to reset. I’m sure the one on the spare is dead along with the others as they are all original to the vehicle. Thanks for your help in this matter.

Got a lot of stuff lol
I would try to do a reset first just to make sure its set to the right pressure but being a 2006 the batteries are definitely dead if they're original. When mine went my local shop said they last about 7 years on average. Eventually I just ripped the led out of the dash once I changed rims a few times lol

My question really comes down to if the warning light sensor needs to get a signal from the spare tire, or can I just remove the sensor from the spare and replace with a standard valve. I’ve got a feeling the warning light may need a signal from all 5 sensors that were originally installed before it will work. Maybe it’s time to just eliminate the warning light, anyone know the best way to do this?
