Just back from spending a few days on The Bourbon Trail. Went 2 years ago and brought back 23 bottles - 2 were gifts. Swore we wouldn't bring back that many....brought back 25: 1 was a gift to me, 2 are gifts for others and 23 are ours. Fail. :D:thumbsup:

Found a bunch of rarities, I see why they’re still there too…though it’s not a bad price on the Bookers or EHT:

All those prices are bad and some are just terrible. I love how the signs are trying to get you pumped up to pay silly amounts of money.

Yeah I’m starting to realize you can find just about anything out here…but you’re gonna pay for it. Another store, the CYPB was $999:

Oh. My. God. If you can get your hands on a bottle of this, and enjoy a chocolate-forward, sweeter, aromatic bourbon this is awesome. It's only sold at Maker's Mark and I wish I'd grabbed more than one bottle. Great tears, smooth and coats your tongue with a distinctly chocolate aroma and taste finish. Lynn and I had some last night and loved it.

I gotta ask again, what are y’all using to ship bourbon to friends? USPS? Ups? FedEx? I know usps asks if anything is liquid or fragile, do you say no or yes?

pic of what I’m sending to a friend in NC for attention.

I don’t believe that the USPS allows for shipping of alcohol. I do believe UPS and FedEx can, but it is dependent on state laws. When I lived in NJ I think I used UPS to ship wine back to family in Missouri.

I cannot confirm or deny that I may have shipped some wine through the USPS. However I took on the risk of being fined if they had found out.

The best advice I can throw out to you is call or stop by the local UPS or FedEx store and ask them if they can do it.

I was just at Stitzel Weller on Friday. I've got a (little left in it) bottle of Lost Prophet - awesome stuff at 22 years old.

love this type of good conversation thread.

my boys at work recently got me a bottle of Smoke Wagon small batch in the fancy bottle as a retirement gift. it wasnt bad at all.

but my "regular" whiskeys for drinking are: Wild Turkey Rare Breed(original batch) & of course Crown Royal.

BirdDog Peach is also very tasty, as is Disarano.

like them all! but my health says its a special treat now days.13906515787806.jpg

It's technically illegal in NC unfortunately. Though, you may not have any issues. I know a lot of people get shipped "illegal" stuff via USPS all the time.

I use Pirateship to create a UPS label and drop off at the UPS store. Since it already has the label they don’t bother asking what’s inside. Just make sure to ship ground and you “shouldn’t” have any issues. In theory lol

Appreciate the feedback! Obviously I am NOT going to ship anything but wine to NC now. :spy:

Hey as long as it "identifies" as wine, nobody can say any different.

Not able to find this in New Mexico, but they do ship here! This came this morning, but not sure when I’ll crack it open. Trying to minimize the open bottles until I can clear some space in cabinet.
