2017 Toyota Tacoma passenger side door will not open. The latch assembly does not work.Is there anyway to open the door other than with the handles? I have removed the seat to gain axcess to the door panel and remove it

I'm having the same problem with my rear door( 23 TRD Off-Road) on the driver's side. When I push the unlock button on the driver's door, there is a rattle sound from the unlock mechanism, but the door doesn't unlock.
Is this the same symptom you are getting?
In my case, if I keep pushing the unlock button while pulling the handle, I can eventually (after 5 or 6 tries) get the door open. I'm pretty sure something has come loose at the latch. I'm hoping to correct it today, but access is an issue.
I don't envy you trying to get the panel off with the door closed and I don't know any way to get the door open without unlocking it.
Maybe talk with accomplished car thief?
    Good luck.
