Along with a single engine choice hybrid or non hybrid. Single cab configuration and bedsize being a DCSB. No manual. Toyota don't need to compete in the segment they aren't going to waste money competing against the other midsize trucks, #2 GM offers 1 configuration with one engine choice and no manual.

Does that mean 3rd Gen manuals value will remain the highest?

I'm guessing so; it would take a truck load of money to get me to part with mine.

Assume the ACLB is dead (sad spice), but the DCLB and DCSB will live on. Think the DCSB is idiotic, but that is just my opinion…sure the “on trend” crowd would beg to differ. :)

I'm not sure I'd go so far as to say the DCSB is idiotic. Personally, I would have requested a DCLB 6MT if such a thing existed, however, I've only had my DCSB for six months now and I have yet to need the extra bed length; it might have come in handy one time, but I made the shorter bed work. Then there are the folks wanting to garage their trucks, I've seen many garage spaces which will not accommodate the longer DCLB.

@T-Rex266 could you move this thread to the 4th gen section? Thanks.

Won't believe till I see it. Ford teased the 6G Ranger long bed, so far Ford has only teased the 6G Ranger. Is Toyota really that worried about Nissan pulling away DCLB customers if they abandon the configuration?

Wait, I am not in that section? WTH? I want to be with the cool kids. Leave this dumpster fire to the decrepit, irrelevant 1st and 2nd genners.

Could any manufacturer releasing a newly redesigned truck for MY 2025 successfully sell a truck with out rear discs?

The electronic parking brake won't work with drums.

I'm still wondering how close in price the 4G Pro will be to F-150 Raptor pricing? I have recently seen some new Raptors for what looks like MSRP, I have also recently seen some at $20k ADM.

Would anyone pay the same price or perhaps more for a new 4G Tacoma Pro as they would for a new F-150 Raptor?

I would. :) Even my wife (who is a chick) thinks they are an idiotic chick truck. She can’t stand them either. I know… I know, always get grief because I don’t like them. The salesman tried to get me in one, said dude those things are fucking stupid. He said…ummm ok then. Told him, if he can’t get me an ACLB, I’ll go across the street to Ford and buy a Ranger. Which I was already on the fence with, better low end torque, vinyl seats, rear seat delete, and rear locker without having to buy an upper trim. Buddy of mine in California ran into that, no ACLBs to be found, forced to buy a DCSB. While there were Rangers available, found it odd since he has always been a Ford guy.

Sure I can make it work, but my bed is usually full to the brim, sometimes stacked all the way to the roof of the topper. 6’ bed is barely enough, there are days I curse the 6’ bed. Can only imagine trying to deal with a 5’. Really could use a full-size 8’ bed at times. For my next truck, 99% sure I’ll step up to a Tundra or 3/4-1 ton and skip the 4th Gen Tacoma altogether, especially if they kill the ACLB.

Sounds like those folks need a bigger garage. We also refuse to live in those cookie cutter neighborhoods too, where most of those small garages exist.

Yeah who knows. It really came down to splitting hairs for Toyota to keep me as a loyal customer. Of course loosing a few curmudgeons like myself won’t matter too-too much to a juggernaut like Toyota. It really came down to timing, needed a new truck like yesterday at the time. Ford was 6-8 months out, Toyota got it to me in 5 weeks. Buying during the pandemic was odd, remember the days they would say “what do I have to do to get you to take this home tonight???”.

Like my 3G, but not in love with it like some of the guys on here are. See a lot of excuses for its flaws because it is a Toyota.

Naw short beds are idiotic. You can’t even fit a bike in there appropriately I don’t haul a lot but everything I have requires at least 6ft bed unless you just love hanging stuff over the tailgate or tailgate down with straps looking silly

Fishing rods and sleeping/camping (alone or better yet with your gal) are enough to justify the LB. Easier to transport a kayak, ice fishing gear, I could go on and on. Love the LB.

Me it is camping and dirt bike gear. Cot fits perfect and my EZ-Up. Even have a 5X8 utility trailer to supplement the lack bed length. On my moto trips I am cursing that I didn’t buy a full size extra cab 8’ bed. It gets tight in the Taco with all the shit I carry. 5 major trips a year, compared to daily is another reason I didn’t get a full-size. So I’ll put up with lack of bed length 5 times a year.

Winter time it is XC skis, don’t like roof racks or boxes.

Ya sure DCSBs are massively popular, doesn’t mean they work for everyone. Just because it is popular, doesn’t mean it is good. Can think of a bunch of things that are wildly popular that I find awful. I know manufacturers have to cater to the masses. Always been a bit out of step with the crowd.
