I've read so many threads omg...

I had a leaking steering rack that was replaced 2 years ago. Also replaced CV axle on one side and power steering pump.

Recently developed a clunking in the front end when turning right at low speeds with the wheel almost to the stop. Also, when turning, the wheel does not want to return to center. This was intermittent but becoming more common. Clunk is still intermittent. Maybe unrelated or coincidental, it seemed to be less frequent with a full tank of gas. Load distribution maybe?

Drove in circles both directions with a spotter and saw/heard nothing. Loaded I yanked on the tie rods, push/pull, up/down, rotate, and no movement. The boots look gross and greasy but nothing else of interest. Jacked it up, yanked on the tire at 3/9 o clock positions. No movement. Went to discount, no uneven tire wear that was noticeable. Looked at the components after driving in circles and no obvious rub marks from tires (my tires don't exactly fit well in the wheel well). Not sloppy when steering. Steering responsive.

Hoping its not the rack but the shop I went to has a history of being jackasses...

    Ball joints?

    What else can I check?

Taking it for balance and rotate. Scheduled to have alignment checked but assumed this would show on my tires. Wheel is not at 12 o clock when truck tracking straight so there's that to address.
