GPS won't work without USB cable, and autolock issue

Just bought a brand new 2023 Tacoma TRD and am Really disappointed. While the vehicle is ok some of the features it was supposed to have either don't exist or don't work as advertised. There's a number of items that concern me but 2 stand out. In short the GPS system (google maps) supported by auto android will NOT work without the USB cable. That means connecting and disconnecting your phone every time. Second Toyotas autolock system does NOT lock the doors when you walk away. Dealer promised both worked as advertised - they don't. What's worse is i had to drag the actual answers out of them. Neither they or Toyotas "brand" customer service knew the that neither worked as advertised. Starting to think its intentional. If anyone has a solution to either problem that doesn't cost thosands or require additonal sysytems i would love to hear it.

 

Those aren't problems. Those are consumer failures to research the product prior to purchase; or a less than forthcoming salesperson.

 

Tacoma doesn’t offer wireless Android Auto, CarPlay.

 

add a Bluetooth wireless connecter . and the other is a safety feature so idiots wont lock keys in car

Mine auto-locks, if I automatically press the lock button on the door when I shut it, or, if I press the button on the key to lock it.

If I press the button to unlock the truck, it will re-lock itself automatically if I don't open a door within like 10 seconds or so.
Perhaps that is causing a bit of confusion?
