Looking at new wheels for my lowered 2nd gen. Will a +48mm offset work? Don't want these wheels to stick out

    Is this a 5 or 6 lug?

Interested to see where this build goes! Don't see too many lowered Taco's on here and I think it's always cool to see the other side of doing things!

First figure what those factory steel wheel specs are. Most factory wheels are 7” wide with a +15-30 offset. I know on the 6lugs 5.5” backspace is pretty much the limit. So imagine on 8” wide wheel +48 you’d be a approx a 6.5” backspace.

Stock wheel is a 15x6 +34 offset. The X-runner has an 18x8 +30 which still tucks under the fenders with space to spare. I'd look for something in the +20-30 range depending on wheel width. From the calculations I've been doing on for mine a 225/50r18 tire on an 18x8 +30 wheel will basically take up the same space as the stock wheels, pushing about 1/2" further and giving you a square wheel/tire look. I'm waiting until I do the rear 4-link setup before committing to wheels and tires though.

I'm guessing you're on the DJM 3/4 drop from the looks. If you aren't planning on going any lower then you can just measure off your stock setup and see how much clearance you have to determine what wheel/tire widths and offsets will work for you.
