Yes. Its that petty. I just bought some ammo on Friday. They said it just started a few weeks ago

 

yes, per transaction for any ammo that can be used in a pistol. Easy solution to that, buy out of state. I will no longer be purchasing ammo in this state unless it’s an emergency.

Did they take your FID card info too? Last I had heard there is the fee plus every transaction is recorded and if you buy over a certain amount of ammo the state PD and local PD could pay you a visit to find out why youre buying “so much” ammo.

I thought any handgun ammo purchase in NJ already required you to show your FID? I'm a NYS resident with a NYS CCW and I bought some 270 Winchester at Dicks in Paramus a few years ago without any issues. Went back a couple of weeks later for 22 and they said no because it could be used it a pistol. LOL.

 

I believe it was required before. I know that Delaware doesn't require any ID to buy ammo

 

@Anchovy yeah, I'm close enough to PA I get it there or more often than that there's some online stores that don't obey these bullshit laws.
