So apparently our trucks have the same payload as a tundra (regular cab 4x4 Tacoma) at about 1500 to 1600 pounds, I currently have a go fast camper which is about 250 to 300 pounds anyway I’ve been eyeballing the four wheel camper flatbed/camper model and their slide in models

The flatbed camper combo is 1300 pounds but you take of your bed which is about 200 to 250 pounds and their regular slide in camper models where you still keep your bed is about 1100 pounds with the options I want

that all being said would it be overkill for our four cylinders? My four cylinder already hates to go up any grade just wouldn’t want it to be dangerous going up hills on freeways

I had a FWC on a 2.7L for two years. 5 speed. It was slow, but not dangerously slow. Coming from a Westfalia, the 2.7L with a FWC was fine.
The 5 speed was essential to gear down though.
The 2.7L got me all around the east coast with the FWC.
    I never had a problem.

I had a Fleet Shell. Nothing inside. At most it was 700 pounds.
