    I think I'll center it where my OCD likes it the most. I'd like to add hood louvers too so I'm trying to invision that as well.

    Sofar where I want it would cut my factory stickers so I'll try heating those up and try moving them. I like the idea of making stickers almost identical to oem with new spark plug gapping and the new vacuum diagram once it's complete.

    Would they take some heat to become more pliable, maybe hit them with a heat gun and then bolt them down to cool off and custom form maybe?

    I think the moving parts inside the latch would bind if you curved it very much at all. I think ill find where I like it best on the hood and build some support brackets for the pin around that.

    I've been all over in the garage today doing ADD things mostly accomplishing nothing. lined up the IC a little more, it's pretty much fitted on the passenger side.

    The horn was right where the passenger side core support will get the 3" hole

    Getting this hard AC line out of the way is probably going to be the hardest part about the drivers side

    I'd be tickled pink if I could just bend the line and not have to evac the freon from the system but I doubt that will work

    I may have to remove the plate bumper and winch to drill the 3inch hole through the drivers side core support.

    The IC does appear to be fitting fairly decently in the grill. The 2 upper grill supports that were going to interfere with the IC both came off the grill with two screws each so not having to cut them off is helpful.

    Covered with a couple shop towels so you can see the bulk of it better, it should get plenty of air sitting here.

    I thought I was taking too many,
    I've spent lots of time cleaning it up, it's an OCD thing. It's also way nicer working in a clean engine bay

    The next time I have to have my engine out I'm definitely degreasing and washing the bay. My valve cover has been leaking since long before I got the truck, so it's a right mess in there. Also daily driving it for years with no fender liners...

    I gave it a little test bend by hand, it just might work.

    I actually just saw one of these come through the ReStore for a couple bucks a few week ago and thought I should have snagged it but decided to pass, wish I had it now.

    Next question is about having the manifolds machined and coated.
    I believe I can have them machined locally for around $250 but I haven't the slightest clue on a location or cost of getting them ceramic coated. Does anyone around here have those capabilities? I know @Speedytech7 's kit was coated when he got it from @Jon64l and they look amazing so that should be a good place to start.


    I also ordered some 3" stainless bends and flux core to see if I could bastardize myself a down pipe. Should have enough bends to account for a few learning experiences along the way.:sawzall: :welder:

    Cerakote makes a product that can be applied at home. Air dries but I don’t Renner if a heat cycle is needed to cure or not.

    I would recommend finding a good local powder/ceramic coater. Or start call a few performance shops and see if they offer the service.

    I got the AC lines out of the way up front.

    I then spent far too long looking for a 10mm wrench. This wrench is especially good at hiding I originally found it in the engine bay after I bought it resting between the radiator and bottom of the fan shroud (contacted the previous owner and verified it didn't belong to him)
    Today I found it resting on the opposite side of the radiator

    I also seem to have misplaced the hole saw I used on the fender for the snorkel, it's the perfect size for the core support holes and I'd prefer not to buy another, they aren't cheap.

    I'll check with the powder coat shop that did the wheels from my sisters 2013. I know they've increase prices but that's just the way the market is

    Those DEI sleeves are really nice. They protect my spark plug wires nice. The wrap is pretty impressive for tube also.

    Local machine shop can only machine the drivers side manifold, the passenger side is a no go because the lip of the V band flange for the crossover pipe sticks out past the face of the exhaust manifold flange.

    Might have a possible lead on getting the manifolds coated, will follow up on that soon (they were closed today)

    If you can score a long enough piece of glass and a roll of coarse sheetrock sand paper you can make it flat enough.

    I have a big piece of glass from a shelf I built a while ago, I've also got access to a bunch of sandpaper. Place the glass on a flat surface with sandpaper on top and go at it with careful hands?
