The Ryobi mentioned is definitely a much better choice than the one you posted.

But I'd still opt for a Viair. Sure you lose the added convenience of a portable, battery-operated compressor but I take it that's not a benefit to you since you never bothered to own one before anyway.

The 88P costs as much as the one you first posted, and connects directly to your battery. It'll be faster than those portable units, and is made by a reputable company having made compressors and tanks for many years.

I made the switch from CO2 (fastest way to air up) to a Viair 400P and never regretted it; that's saying something considering how fast and convenient CO2 can be.

Sometimes I want a regular cab Tacoma.

I'd want the same sliders I had on my last rig.

I need to evangelize this to people considering the HT 2500: you need to get the wideband knock sensors and install them before you can tune ignition. The Toyota resonant types I've decided are impossible to get to work. That said, you can set up a safe base map without, but you won't be able to dial it in with the factory knock sensors.

Heard about that. There's a popular channel on YouTube following a guy in Waco starting up a wildlife rehab operation. He was worried some of his less intelligent animals wouldn't know to take cover and they'd die.

Saw some of the same thing in 2020 here in San Angelo. Just an absurd amount of damage.

Or just have a little more experience tuning ignition, I don't think I've ever worked on any vehicles that had knock sensors up until Mike's. The knock control is only as good as you set it up anyway so if you can't accurately cause knock on a Dyno a few times under different conditions to tune it they're not doing you any good anyway. If you set them up wrong they'll either go off early and you'll lose power or they'll give you a false sense of security because they're not going off when they should. So you're sorta at the same stage as me without any knock sensors when you think about it unless you take the time to set it up on a Dyno and simulate all the conditions like they tell you to, and then you still have to hope you did that part right.

GM uses modern style knock sensors that the haltech is fully compatible with anyway. But TBH, if I was going to run an LS, I'd probably just spring for a Holley.

A 4.8, maybe a 5.3. should be plenty of fun for a ratty grocery getter

I'm procrastinating pulling the rear third on the Tacoma to reseal it. Not my favorite job even though it's pretty quick. I think I'll top it off and poke at some lighter stuff today. Save that one for a high motivation day lol

    Well this is shit news.

I'm thinking I'll need a jump maybe to get it started, but wondering if I have a vaccuum line that came unplugged that's causing a no start.

Found two unplugged lines but thought those were unplugged long ago.

I say this because my brake bleed job kept giving me air with spurts of fluid. I dabbed grease and stuff on all the new lines I replaced in case one of them had a leak and no changes in bleeding.
