Yes sir. Heated and cooled. It’s the kit they have branded as “Degreez”. I‘be made a little more progress. Taking my time because I’m a bit picky on how everything goes together.

The bottom TED and ducting are mounted. I decided to cut a little section off of the wire harness mount to make more room so the fan air flow isn’t obstructed.

Top TED and ducts mounted. This was a little more challenging because I had to consider how the exhaust would exit the seat. There is a contraption in the center so I chose to offset it to the side. There’s a little vent grille included with the kit that will hopefully work out. Won’t know for sure until the leather is on.

Driver seat is done, except for the head rest. There’s still some massaging to do with a steamer and heat gun. The color matches the factory plastics pretty well.

the exhaust vent came out pretty clean. I may come back later and paint the vent with some SEM grey, but it’s at the bottom and not very visible.

I made a little switch panel to hold the seat switches, some accessory switches and my bass knob. Designed in Tinkercad and 3D printed in ABS.

I haven’t finished the seats yet. I’ve been busy doing all sorts of other stuff. Hopefully over the next week or so I’ll find time to get them completed.

It seems like I always stack mods and then get too busy to install them.

Here’s the next mod that was delivered this evening. Going back to a 2-piece driveshaft. Ever since I changed the gears from 3.73 to 4.10, the Tom Woods 1-piece starts becoming a jump rope and vibrates pretty bad if I get to 85mph. 2 shorter shafts have a much higher critical speed than one long one. So this should fix that.

Here are comparison pics with the stock shaft. The main difference is that there is a double cardan joint after the carrier bearing, which I’m told should alleviate the driveline vibrations generally experienced on lifted Tacomas.

The Taco went for a little swim yesterday.

Also I got it a little stuck in another spot. It took 3 Jeeps to get me out.

After he helped get me out, my buddy got a little stuck as well. I was able to return the favor and snatch him out.

What a blast of a day. Makes me want to get a dedicated rig for off road so I can do more crazy red neck shit without risking damage to my daily.

The Taco earned its keep today for sure. Now it needs a thorough bath!

After the off road shenanigans I decided I want do more, but I want something that I won’t feel as bad about beating on.

I’ve always liked the XJ and they’re about the cheapest of the Jeeps. I found this one near SanAntonio and it was priced decent.
    9C1A4D52-6F95-4E4B-A690-B77194AC48DA.jpg CFDB83B0-CA71-4708-A045-B562FCAD4F97.jpg D39FA59F-ACE7-441F-9CA5-4524597C0989.jpg C0FC797A-EEDA-4DCA-8493-122C31795060.jpg

I used the Taco to trailer it home. The truck did pretty good considering it was probably over its towing capacity. It got 7.3 MPG.

The Jeep is a little dinged up, but there’s no rust. It’s got what looks like DIY bead locks on some 35x12.50 Pro Comps. It’s got some sort of lift that’s pretty high considering they’re using the short arm setup.

I’ve already ordered along arm kit and track bar relocation stuff to try and get the track bar angle more parallel with the steering arm. It’s got a flipped track rod with all heim joints for the steering.

It’s got a PSC hydro-assist setup in place of where the steering damper would be.

The front bumper is ARB. It’s bent a little at the ends and touching the headlight bezels but I think I can bend it back down. There’s a Warn winch that works. Rear bumper is pretty beefy but I’m not sure who made it.

The heater, A/C, power windows and locks all work. The interior is fairly decent for a 1995. The headliner is falling down a bit.

Engine starts easy and runs good. Transmission shifts good. 4WD works. Supposedly it’s got automatic lockers front and rear and is geared. But I haven’t verified that yet or tested see what the ratio is.

It hasn’t been register in like 7 years. The previous owner just trailered it to places and used it on his ranch. It’s got some lights broken/missing in the front but parts for these are super affordable. Looking forward to getting all the little bugs worked out and getting it legal so I can go mob it around.

Carpet was wet on passenger floor. I took out the whole interior except for the dash. There are two water leaks I’ve found so far.

One is a leak at the rear hatch. The boot where the wires lead into the rear lid for the defroster and wiper stuff is torn. Some of the wires are broken which is probably why the rear wiper isn’t working.

The other is at the dash where the heater box meets the firewall. There’s a seal there that’s starting to crumble. The water drains from the cowl onto the passenger inner fender then travels right over that area.

So she’s getting new carpet, new seat covers and a headliner recover. Someone said JEEP means Just Empty Every Pocket. I see it now!

So far I’ve gotten all the surface rust at the potential trouble areas sanded free of loose rust and paint. Passenger rear floor is the worst area. It’s a little flexy in that area but I think it’ll be fine for now.

I applied some POR15 to those areas. Thinking about a layer of Herculiner over the whole floor for a nice clean slate before I put the new carpet in.

Ive always liked that model. They made them in a manual as well, if i remember correctly. The 4 liter straight six has excellent torque too.
