I realize there are many forums on tire fitment, I think mine is a bit different so I am asking for a some advice. I have a 2007 BASE model 4x2 regular cab 2.7. It is not an SR5 or TRD. Just a plain ole simple model truck. When I ordered tires I did not know the 4x4 and 4x2 had different upper and lower mounts, I was obviously mistaken. I want it this way because it is my work truck. I service fire extinguishers and other suppression equipment so I do not have to carry heavy loads (rebuilds are done at my shop) usually under 200lbs, no trailer to pull. That said, I drive a lot of gravel, I drive through fields to get to equipment, grain bin sites, pastures, .... you get it. I do not have to drive in inclement weather, I just reschedule. So, because of deep grass, waterways, small ditches and similar situations I do need some clearance. The 2.7 is plenty powerful enough and gets solid mileage.

So, the goal here is some added clearance without breaking the bank, its a work truck. I currently have 245/70/16 tires [ 5 lug ] - (I changed the rims from 15" to 16"). The rims (I'm told) came off of an Acura. I purchased a set of Hankook AT2s 265/75/16. In my mind I thought they should be fine, upon arrival after rolling one of the new tires next to my little taco, they looked like they were for the space shuttle trailer.

I don't mind doing a little lift if I have too, but I am hoping I can make these work. I also bought front and rear Bilstein 4600s to replace the OEM shocks but I realize this does not affect height. Your thoughts are appreciated.
