My son's '99 4cyl 5spd has started occasionally dropping rpms rapidly, then returning to desired speed. The deceleration is abrupt. It's like fuel is completely cutting out, then back on. Does that sound like a TPS?

It has a check engine light. I'll figure out how to pull that code and report back.

So the only codes are EGR. They cleared and stay out. My son said he noticed that when it happens, the odometer goes blank as well. Not sure what's up.
