Has anybody modified their 3rd Gen Tacoma so the power windows can be used without the acc turned on?

Is this really such an issue that you would risk modding the electrical circuit powering the windows? Tread lightly my friend, modding this circuitry could be a Pandora's box!

Not sure that I have heard of anyone looking to do this mod. I must admit, curiosity has got the better of me, why would you want to do this?

Because manual window cranks weren’t available and my kid leaves the accessory function on

The Taco with Jam-Protect Windows are always powered but the Main Body ECU controls (via LIN) the relay that handles the up-stop you pinched something feature.

    Plain Jane Access Cab"

In "theory" you could snip the yellow relay control on the Plain Jane circuit and tie into the cabin illumination wire. It stays ON "always" but sleeps to OFF after engine is off for 20 min. Opening a door or turning on an interior light wakes it up, then another 20 min count down to off if engine/acc stays off. Pressing a window switch would wake the circuit if tied into that circuit.

Fwiw, I did bowl lighting and ditched the jumper for rear window switch power. So I am darth Vader from the driver seat and kids can’t do a with the switch. Till they earn it, that’s how it will be.

    I missed that bit.

kid leaves the passenger window down? Or we are talking about the power rear slider?

Also, wtf, kids grow, AC isn’t family friendly, I know this because my wife told me.

I'd love window power with the doors unlocked.

M6 can be dissembled to extract the wire and terminal.

Jump the removed pin to 1D_19 and test.

    Remove battery negative beforehand.

    I'd need some serious step-by-steps.

Having anytime power windows has been a dream since my first power window car.
