Does anyone have a 2003 wiring diagram so I can figure out how to wire in the two switches on the clutch pedal. I know one is for canceling cruise control and one is a start safety switch. 718AD78C-D677-44B4-A3B1-D842198E14F8.jpg

It’s pretty simple, the wires for those two switches as well as the reverse sensor on the transmission all come from a single plug off the automatic trans harness. If you haven’t read through this thread, it details it really well in post #95:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/yet-another-dc-manual-swap-thread.661925/page-5

The one part that threw me off and I had to redo to get it figured out is that there are two black with white stripe wires on that plug - one goes to the top switch and one goes to the bottom switch on the clutch pedal, and it matters which goes where. So pay attention to which position the wires are pinned in the auto trans plug and mark them before you cut anything. Let me know if you have any questions.

That post #95 is a good one. Thank you. In one of his photos, he shows how he used the pre-existing grommets in the firewall to run his wires into the cab to connect to the clutch. It looked like he had some kind of single-wire loom for each wire. Do you know what this is actually called?

I’d ask the OP on that thread, but it says he have been active sine 2021.

So I compared my automatic NSS to the diagram in that post and found one difference. Spade 6 on my plug is GREEN but in the diagram it shows Black w/ White. Do you think it is still the Neutral switch?

Also, regarding the two clutch switches. My understanding is that the Clutch Depress switch is the one closer to the firewall, that let’s engine start. The Clutch Release switch is closer to driver and that is the cruise control cancel switch. Do I have that right?

And the black/red power wire (#3) goes to both the Clutch Release and the Reverse switches.

Is there a special technique to depin the automatic neutral safety switch? And could I just depin the wires I need and then place a ziplock bag over the switch, zip tie it to the trans/body?

I just reread that other post #95 and he said all of his wires matched the diagram except one. He didn’t say which one, but when you look at his depinned wires, he has a GREEN one as well. That makes sense considering his truck was also a 2003.

Yes you have the switch orientation correct. I just cut the whole plug off the harness, I’m not planning on putting an automatic back in my truck.

Dan - what did you do with the wires you didn’t use. Just tape them up?

and how did you get the same power wire to go to two different switches? Use one of those splice connectors?

Yeah I just taped up individual wires and tucked them back in the wire loom.

For the one power wire, where I cut it I just put a butt splice connector with one wire going into it and two wires going out, to the two switches. You could use a vampire tap but I’m not a big fan of those.

Figured out how to depin the connector. Labeled all my wires and connectors. I just don’t have any thin wires or small butt connectors to do the wiring yet.

Since my wiring reaches up to trans tunnel, can I just run the wires from there behind dash to clutch switches? Or is it better to have them come through firewall near clutch pedal?

Interesting, hadn’t thought of running them up through the tunnel. Don’t see why not, that’s basically where that wiring harness has to run anyway.

I ordered this connector to see if I could replicate the auto NSS and keep all 5 of the manual trans wires sorted.

I also ordered a new carrier bearing b/c as I started to clean up the manual trans driveshaft I noticed a large split in the rubber.

Still waiting for my 6-pin connector to arrive. How is it everything I order from Amazon comes in a day and this silly little connector takes a week?

My new solid transmission mount from @traxman25 arrived. Here she is in bare metal. Almost too nice to paint.

    and painted.

I did another test install of the crossmember. Going to work on getting the headers and y-pipe installed this weekend.

Just out of curiosity, will my truck start with the automatic ECM in it, or should I just wait until I have a manual ECM?
