If you're sticking to tamer dirt roads and trails you might be fine, but at the very least you should have a good set of rubber underneath you. I got by for a while with just 265/75r16 wildpeaks and grew into my mods as I needed them, but I also fully understood that if something happened to the truck, that was on me.

Realized today walking into my house I must have leaned enough on the fender changing plugs to put a dent into the fender. So annoyed at myself.

I got it maybe 75% of the way out working it from the back and I’ll have the PDR guy who took a decent divot out of the wife’s JGC hopefully get it out sooner versus later but yeah. The ones you do yourself are always the worst. At least now it’s no longer a glaring dent everyone will see but a small(er) valley only I’ll see every single time I look at the truck.IMG_3430.jpgIMG_3431.jpg

That looks nice. I really don't like the new ocean plate and was going to keep my old plates on.

Had a dent guy quote me $200 for one that is basically right where the roof curves going down towards the rear window. The other is more towards in the middle and its on one of the ridges on the roof.. That one doesn't bother me. The one by the edge is noticeable if you look for it. For $200 and for what I'm going to end up doing with the truck I figured i'll just save the dough lol

I'll supply the glue sticks (assuming it's one of those pullers)

It is, has a decent slide hammer and other pullers. Need to do it before the heat of summer or it takes forever for the glue to cool.

Got em primed and did the barrels and inside bead lips with a gloss black.
    IMG_20230503_151722.jpg

Took a hard look at the features visible from the outside. Gonna mask off the interiors at the inside of the machined lip, just to the inside of the spokes, and do the faces with a hammered gold.

Hoping for a subtle two tone look if anyone ever gives them a good eyeball. The black barrels should help pop the gold drums and calipers.

I may go back and clearcoat the black parts, I may not. The hammered enamel will be way tougher, and it's just spray bomb. EZ to touch up if I gnaw the black parts.

First two pics with primer and overspray from doing the barrels. Third pic after Rustoleum Hammered gold.

    The masking was pretty tricksy.

I've never used the hammer finish stuff before so I did a bunch of reading on it.

Guys that have had the results I wanted suggested ignoring the label direction for thin coats and putting on one thick coat with additional touchups in areas that weren't as textured as the rest, after giving the first coat time to develop.

The paint seems to basically work by intentionally fisheyeing in a controlled way. When I did the first wheel I wasn't super impressed with the texture but by the time I got to the third wheel it had definitely started to do its thing.

I'll pull the tape while the paint is still tender and give it a full 30 days to harden (again, this number based on reports from The Internet) before I swap over the tires and TPMS.

when you did the sand blasting, did you do the interior of the wheel where the bead sits? should it be done? If it was, does the sand blast surface make it too rough to seal? Im asking as my winters are ready to be done as well, looking for tips

I've never had a problem with doing the whole wheel. I've also not ever heard of it being an issue, but I'm by no means a guru.
