AC issue

Hi, I bought an 04' 2WD with 110k miles on it a couple weeks ago. The AC worked great on day 1, but has been off and on since then. The unit will blow hot air (not just outside air) when I turn the AC on about 90% of the time, the other 10% of the time it works fine and blows cold. If I turn the AC off and just blow outside air, it blows hot somewhat less frequently but the issue still persists.

It seems to me like the actual AC unit is working fine but there might be some electrical issues. Any ideas would be appreciated!

super popular question here that ive asked as well. the long time guys have linked in a couple threads.

im STILL messign with mine. exactly the same symptoms.

Expansion Valve = has been top thing told (not very expensive to buy, but it is to get it done for you)

blend door actuator= is next told (this is easy to check)

climate control head unit= cant find em anywhere

im subbing to your thread like i do all the threads on this issue. if you find solution? please share it!

 

I wonder if the charge was topped off before being sold.

No trouble shooting or repair done.

Time for the gauges to tell the story.
