A sort of silly, but serious question on badges

Ask yourself "For what purpose do you apply badges?"
If you leave the badges as it came from the factory, then you have the excuse it is too much trouble to remove and you don't care.
If you are applying new badges, you are trying to impress someone, maybe yourself. You know what you have, why do you have to remind yourself?
And after impressing yourself for a while, you may regret it, having grown up some.
Function over form. What function does a badge serve other than serving one's ego (excluding free advertising for toyota)?

 

Damn people always imitating us peasants! Next thing you know, people are going to start swapping out all of that chrome they paid too much for for the interior blackness of the SR….

 

There is an argument that some beach permits require you to have a 4x4 badge visible on your truck.

 

Then that answers the "What function does a badge serve..." and a very good reason to have a 4x4 badge (assuming this is true, i don't doubt you)

 

Or you want to be unique in a sea of bland appliances.

I ran those badges for a while on my Sport. I liked them for a while but got tired of them fast. And they faded and looked like hell. I removed them after 2 years. I say no but do what you like.

 

I say do what you want and make it look like what you want it to look like. It sits in your driveway and you're the guy driving it! Plus it's fun to confuse, annoy, or make people laugh with your mods.

What is your opinion on them? I have looked at them several times. I just never went for it since I don't see anyone with them to get any feedback.

The look is for me. Anyone else, who cares. I also have an SR5 grille that I saved from an autobody scrap pile. I preferred the black over the odd chrome grille. It's my Pro Sport!!

 

I love it more when the badges are not straight and slightly off angle. When it just eyeballed on .

 

Well..... some of us are badasses!
