A sort of silly, but serious question on badges

I got into a minor front end collision a couple years ago and when they repaired the front valance, they color matched it. In stock form the Pros have a black valance. I liked it and said " it looks pretty good with my Meso headlight trim plates" so I left it.
It was about a year ago now, I was in the concrete jungle (Denver) and some guy yelled out his window pulling out of the gas station "Pro poser!!!"
I about fell over with laughter!
    :rofl::rofl::rofl:

    Undoubtedly I'd bet he's a member on TW:thumbsup:

TRD: Lift, Exhaust, Air Intake, Skid Plate & "Beadlock" wheels. Batman sticker. 255/85R16 Toyo MTs. Debadged. H9s.
I completely debadged and undecaled my 2022 OR AC, and even painted the beadlock trim rings black, so I could potentially “pass” as a black SR5 at a distance.

But…I did put a small Batman logo in the driver’s side rear window…and paid to have the stylish TRD air intake installed…..so basically I’m amusing myself, and a few Toyota mechanics.

If a Pro badge is your vibe, go for it.

It's funny I have an SR5 4X4 it came with a chrome trim around the grille. I liked black better so I blacked it all-out except the rear bumper so far. I addeda few small black mountain decals over the Tacoma logo and a dealership sticker that says Statler Toyota, HillValley CA on the tailgate.

I really want blacked out rear bumper and thinking about removing the SR5 badges off the sides. Like the Germans do I want people to not really know exactly which trim I paid for and what my own look. I also like the 2020+ Sr grill best. It's a simple clean look.

I like the Pro badge look and its nice seeing the ones that say Sport or Off Road. Harmond Customs made some sweet Sport and Off Road badges that were identical to the Pro. There was a big difference between them and the ones on Amazon. Harmon Customs loved them because at $199 a set was crazy. Now I wish I had a set because I will rock them. OP I say put them on, I'm leaning that way too and ordering a set.

Do it, it's your truck. Similar to all the guys who get a lift and 285's and never go off road. They aren't impressing anybody but themselves, regardless of what they think. If you like the look of the badge under the mirrors go for it.

The irony is that 99% of the time I see trucks like these they started life as an SR / SR5.

I’ve always liked a good factory striping package when it’s well executed. I loved the stripe on my 93 and used to really like the striping on the 1988 base trucks. I actually often wonder if you could put a stripe on the 3G similar to the striping on that Roadrunner since there’s a body line right under the window.

I don’t have much of a leg to stand on when it comes to the badging argument. My Tacoma is fully debadged and I likely would have debadged my C5 if it wasn’t posted into the bumpers, but I loved the factory STi badging / decals on my old WRX STi, so yeah.

You make the payments, your call. You bought the best truck & are proud of it, so what’s the problem if it’s not necessarily my taste

I personally prefer less-is-more, but plenty of non-Pro owners slap on “toyota” script grills and get standing ovations, so to each their own.

While I don’t like extra badges, I would reluctantly endorse:
A.) crazy factory Toyota side stripes from ‘70’s-90’s
B.) “Toyota” tailgate sticker from pickups & on current Hilux
C.) shout out to “4x4” branded mudflaps that mysteriously disappeared after Gen2

Since some people start with an SR/SR5 as a base platform and mod it up, I think it should be a rule that you can badge it up to whatever your mods make it now. :anonymous:

As others have said, it's your truck. If you like it do it.

I'm not sure. It should have some badges or stickers to tell you what it is. :anonymous:

I see a LOT of missed opportunities for additional stickers and badges. Looks pretty empty.
