Is my dash clock fried?

Finally was going to fix it. Even bought me a handy soldering pen. Then noticed this. Funny thing is it lit up good for a minute after I replaced the alternator & battery about a month ago & then nothing….
Upper right corner of face. I’ve seen this type of thing on other electronics & I’m pretty sure it’s not good…. Ya never know though…. Just lookin to see if anyone else ran into this & the clock was ok.

 

You can find these clocks pretty easily for sale in the 25-50 range

 

Might even find one just giving it away before he/she tosses it in the garbage.

There's guys on ebay you can send it to who will fix them for cheap.

 

Depends on what blew up. It might be just a couple of components that need replacing. Is it possible to take it apart further for a better look?

 

i think mine has been tossed.

Toyota could not have picked a worse location.

I was never able to see it without major body movement never while driving .

If I needed a Clock i would put on on top the dash with the gauges.

 

where did you get that clock?

 

It’s actually an air temperature gauge,
Top reading is before the supercharger and bottom reading is the temperature after the air is compressed coming out of the supercharger last summer when it was around 95 outside temperature.

 

That dark splotch is from where the getter was flashed when the vacuum display was made, it removes the last traces of air so the display last longer, its not a failure sign.

 

Do all of your cigarette plug power ports work? On mine the 2 lower ones are on the same fuse as the clock, so overloading one of those makes the clock go out.

I was looking online for a used one. Some TW phrasing caught my eye in one of the google search results. Ended up being a different post with this same info. Course then saw I had a couple of notifications. I don't know why sometimes on my browser the tab shows them & other times not.... Anyway, thank you....

 

I really only use one to charge the phone....
Just looked at the wiring FSM & '01's have a dedicated power outlet fuse.
